Marcello

Rehabilitation Assistant

After ten years as a professional soccer player, Marcello decided that helping people should be part of his professional life. In 2009 Marcello graduated with a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy from Santa Paula University in Costa Rica. Before moving to Canada in 2013, Marcello was the head of the Physiotherapy Department for the Costa Rican National Soccer Team where he rehabilitated elite athletes and participated in several international soccer tournaments such as America Cup, Gold cup and UNCAF Cup. Marcello also had a successful private Physiotherapy practice where he rehabilitated musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, amongst others. When he and his wife decided to move to Canada, Marcello started work as a Therapist Assistant and discovered a love for rehabilitation and working with geriatrics and neurology. After working for more than three years in residential care Marcello has been acquiring experience in geriatrics and dementia. He is excited to gain more experience and education in these areas while maintaining his expertise in orthopaedics.
